Splitting the Spree River into multiple zones for different uses can add diversity to the area. We want to see commercial transportation, ecological habitat corridors, personal boat use (i.e. kayak, sailboat, paddle boards), swimming, and recreational waterfront use. These zones can coexist amongst one another, while also providing aquaculture (i.e. plant filtration, algae growth) located in polluted zones to clean the Spree. Also adding uses along the waterfront, such as cycling networks, relaxation, recreation, and cultural centers can revitalize a strong sense of community in the area.
